Role: Network Engineer – Voice

Responsibilities:

·   Currently working for Broadview’s award winning OfficeSuite product that lets the customers enjoy affordable, easy-to-use business phone system.

·   It is a cloud based system that provides all the advanced features and functionality of an enterprise-grade system to the office phones connected to a ip-pbx residing in the cloud.

·   The service includes easy-to-use VoIP phones, powerful features, with mobility and security.

·   Responsible for network design and testing support.

·   Design and deployment of a lab-based, open source implementation of IMS called Project Clearwater, in the cloud to provide voice services. Clearwater has been deployed on a Vmware box in a Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) environment.

·   Working with various SBC’s like ACME packet, Perimeta, and MBG.

·   Running SIP Certification against different VoIP based phones like Polycom, RCA, simplicity, Grandstream and Cisco ATA’s, SIP and Mitel phones, and soft phones against the OfficeSuite.

·   Load testing with SIPP tool, designing scripts for end to end call load generation on Metaswitch call server, MBG and Silhouette. Also load testing the ACD application with SIPP.

·   Validating a SIP based mobile application that runs on the present day smartphones using wifi or 3G/4G as a carrier to mobilize the Comcast CDV line.

·   Lead point of contact for ANY issues being reported in any of the field trials, QA labs for debugging and solution providing from both the network side and the provisioning side.

·   Working across multiple teams (PD, PE, Care, CET, and CQA) to drive the successful entry of the product in different trials (employee, friendly, market) and then to production launch.

·   Hosting and driving multiple discussions, daily calls for defect prioritization and resolution across multiple teams and vendors.

·   Call quality testing – Testing various codecs and assessing results to come up with the best codec after considering call quality on all environments: office, home, in-transit.

·   Lead the migration activity for on-demand migrations for the project which included migrating existing users from CMS to the new platform IMS.
